Bascom Palmer August Medical Eye Institute, Abu Dhabi
A western-educated, north American board certified/board eligible (or equivalent) ophthalmologist will serve as part of a full-time medical staff to provide ophthalmic care in a new ophthalmology specific hospital being built in Abu Dhabi. This position works in concert with the medical director to provide the highest quality medical care to residents and visitors to the United Arab Emirates. Inquiries by all subspecialties are invited. Candidates should have 15 years or more of experience as a practicing ophthalmologist.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Provide high quality ophthalmic care in a patient-oriented specialty medical center, through appropriate treatment, monitoring and, when warranted, surgical intervention.
Document and explain treatment options, risks and benefits, test results and other clinically relevant information.
Liase with members of the community to ensure well-coordinated medical care.
Obtain and maintain all appropriate medical incenses as required by The Health Authority of Abu Dhabi ( HAAD).
Participate in community medical education events and weekly grand rounds.
