Trinity Health at Home and Holy Cross Home Care & Hospice have an exciting opportunity for a Board Certified Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician to lead a Hospice and Palliative Care team located in Silver Spring, Maryland.

The Medical Director is responsible for providing clinical direction to the Interdisciplinary Team in the Hospice program and the Acute Palliative Care Service through active leadership, consultation, education, mentoring, teaching and participation in weekly Interdisciplinary Team conferences, daily patient rounds, and review of clinical and administrative records as scheduled.   The Medical Director integrates Hospice and Palliative philosophy of care into professional practice while providing direct care and service to referred patients in the hospital, or community setting.

The selected Medical Director will be Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, as well as Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine or in process of attaining certification status with proven training, experience and interest in the medical, psychosocial, and spiritual aspects of Palliative and Hospice care. The physician must possess effective communication skills demonstrating the ability to interact with and educate physicians and other clinicians in principles of palliative medicine.  A valid Driver's License and absence of criminal record, as well as a State of Maryland Medical License and good standing with the HCH medical staff is also required.
